This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform at advisorpitch.com and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect:

• Name, email address, and password (encrypted)
• Company name, size, and website
• Job title and phone number (optional)
• Profile photo (if provided via OAuth)

1.2 Proposal & Client Data

We store the data you enter to create and manage proposals, including:

• Proposal content, sections, and attachments
• Client names, email addresses, phone numbers, and company details
• Deal values, deadlines, and proposal status
• Electronic signatures and signed PDFs
• Internal notes you attach to proposals

1.3 Usage & Analytics Data

When proposals are viewed by clients, we collect:

• Viewer name and email address (entered voluntarily at the email gate)
• IP address and browser user agent
• Time spent on each page and scroll depth
• Timestamp of first proposal view and email open events

1.4 Communications Data

If you configure SMS notifications, we collect and store the mobile phone number you provide. SMS messages are sent only to the phone number you designate in your account settings as a notification recipient — we do not send marketing SMS.

1.5 Payment Information

Billing is processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment instrument details on our servers. We receive and retain subscription status, plan type, and billing cycle information.

1.6 Technical Data

• Log files, IP addresses, browser type, and operating system
• Cookies and session tokens required for authentication
• API usage logs for performance monitoring

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Authenticate your account and enforce security
• Send transactional emails (email verification, password reset, proposal delivery, invite links)
• Send SMS notifications to the phone number you configure — only for events you have enabled (e.g., proposal opened, signed)
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Provide customer support
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
• Comply with legal obligations

3. SMS / Text Messaging

AdvisorPitch sends SMS notifications via Twilio only to the phone number you explicitly configure in Settings → Notifications. These messages are transactional in nature — they notify you of account events (e.g., "Your proposal was opened").

• No marketing SMS: We do not send promotional or marketing text messages.
• No third-party sharing for marketing: Your phone number is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Opt-out: You can disable SMS notifications at any time in Settings → Notifications, or reply STOP to any SMS to opt out immediately.
• Support: Reply HELP or contact support@advisorpitch.com for assistance.
• Message & data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: Trusted vendors who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements — including Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (SMS), Vercel (hosting), and Neon (database). These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us.
• Legal Compliance: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AdvisorPitch, our users, or the public.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
• With Your Consent: In any other case, only with your explicit prior consent.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@advisorpitch.com. Certain data may be retained for up to 90 days in backups before permanent deletion.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, HMAC-signed webhook payloads, rate limiting, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies solely for authentication (session management) and essential service functionality. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from signing in.

8. Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
